The working principle of DC generator is the principle that the alternating current EMF induced in armature coil is changed into DC EMF by the commutator combined with the reverse action of the brush, so that the DC EMF can be changed from the brush end to the DC EMF. The direction of the induced EMF is determined by the right hand rule (the magnetic inductance line points to the palm of the hand, the thumb points to the direction of the conductor, and the other four fingers point to the direction of the induced EMF in the conductor). The direction of the force acting on the conductor is determined by the left hand rule. This pair of electromagnetic forces forms a torque acting on the armature, which is called electromagnetic torque in the rotating motor. The direction of the torque is counterclockwise in an attempt to make the armature rotate counterclockwise. If the electromagnetic torque can overcome the resistance torque on the armature (such as the resistance torque caused by friction and other load torque), the armature can be rotated counterclockwise. DC motor is a kind of motor which relies on DC working voltage. It is widely used in recorder, video recorder, DVD player, electric razor, hair dryer, electronic watch, toy and so on.
